Location: Indian cemetery named after the Taylor Postoak family of Creek Indians.
Phoebe Postoak April 30, 1871 - November 22, 1886 in Sand Springs, Tulsa County, Oklahoma Daughter of Taylor and Molea Postoak. She died at the age of 15 and was buried near their log house.
In 1889, five-year old Nettie
Howard, daughter of John and Mary Howard died in a wagon while in route to the
'89 Land Run. The parents went to Taylor Postoak's house to ask for help in
finding a burial place. Mr. Postoak told them they might bury the child beside
his fifteen year old Phoebe - Tulsa Annuals - January 1973. Volume 1, Page 4.
Thus began the Postoak Cemetery
