DESCRIPTION:     This small cemetery has evidence of only two graves,one stone was illegible.   It is enclosed in a cast iron type fence.  There is a
Texas Historical Survey Committee marker inside the fence.  The cemetery is behind a barbed wire fence, directly on the side of the road.

LOCATION:  Off Hwy. 29, at Art, Texas.  Take the road which runs beside the Café/Post Office in Art; about ¼ mile or so on the right-hand side
is the cemetery.

HISTORICAL MARKER

Daniel Hoerster, cattle brands inspector, was killed 1875 by cattle rustlers in Mason County War - a feud between the law and the lawless. [Recorded 1967]
