William ‘Harold’ Richardson

ODESSA — William “Harold” Richardson, 71, passed away September 21, 2004, at his home. He was born April 26, 1933, in Gunsight, Stephens County, Texas, to Sudie Lee and Austin Richardson. He married Janice Hawkins on August 23, 1969, in Remlap, Alabama. He was a mason for 38 years and an endowed member and Past Master of Andy G. Vaughn Lodge #1421. He was also a 29-year member of Sam J. Helm Chapter 445, Sam J. Helm Council 363, Odessa Commandery 110 and El Paso Scottish Rite. He was a member of the Odessa Scottish Rite Association, Tranquility Lodge #2000 and Friendship Chapter #1008, Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of Dunn Street Baptist Church. He is also a retired truck driver from Vulcan Chemicals.
He is preceded in death by his parents, aunt and uncle, Mattie and Al Smith, and uncle, Jack Richardson.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Janice Richardson of Odessa; son, James Richardson and his wife, Melissa, of Odessa; daughters, Jo Ann Richardson of Taylors, South Carolina, Shearon Lenderman and husband, Mike, and Cindy Johnson and husband, Randy, all of Spartanburg, South Carolina; sisters, Emma Dudney and husband, Lynn, of Odessa and Joyce Pledger and husband, Chris, of Ben Wheeler, Texas; five grandchildren, Joshua and Brianna Richardson, Audrey Williams, Corbin and Rachel Johnson; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2004, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, September 24, 2004, at Dunn Street Baptist Church in Odessa with Pastor Carl Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa with Masonic services.
