ODESSA Leona McClellan, 87, a long time resident of Odessa, passed from this life Sunday, November 28, 2004, at her residence.
She was born May 28, 1917, in Snyder, TX. Leona was one of seven children born to Lizzie and Lee Smith.
Two children were born to Leona and her first husband, James F. Jennings. A son, James Dewayne Jennings of Jal, N.M. and a daughter, Gloria Kay Anderson of Sandia Park, N.M.
Her husband, Lloyd L. McClellan survives her. They were married on May 18, 1978. Her stepsons are James B. McClellan of Friendswood, TX, and Glenn E. McClellan of Midland.
She is also survived by four grandchildren, Ricky Dewayne Jennings of Irving, TX., Rita Dawn Kopp of Midland, James Douglas Anderson of Albuquerque, NM., and Jeffery Lynn Anderson of Phoenix, AZ; and a brother, Marvin Smith of San Angelo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Rose Smith, Lena Faye Lackey, Edith Rutherford and Florence Elder; and one brother, Wilson Smith; and one granddaughter, Jana Renee Anderson.
Leona’s step-grandchildren are Glenn Edward McClellan Jr., presently serving with the U.S. military in Iraq and Brandon Lloyd McClellan of Midland.
From all of these grandchildren, she had seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family would like to thank Star Hospice for their loving care and concern for Leona.

There will be a visitation from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2004, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at Sherwood Church of Christ with Lynn Money officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Odessa Christian School or The Ladies Bible Class at Sherwood Church Of Christ.
