Jesus ‘Jesse’ Cuellar
ODESSA Jesus “Jesse” Cuellar, 70, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital. Our Dad was a devoted loving and successful business man. He was born January 10, 1934, in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico. He came to the U. S. where he met the love of his life, his wife Irene Chapa. From that love evolved three daughters.
One of his first jobs was working at Refchem. He had a passion for cars and from that Jessie’s Auto Parts came to be over 40 years ago. In 1991, he also established the International Ballroom. He retired in March 2004.
We are very proud of him for his hard work and dedication to his whole family. We love him and he will be deeply missed. Because of his strong faith and belief we know he is at peace with our Lord.
He is preceded in death by his father, Manuel and his brother, Arturo Cuellar.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Cuellar of Odessa; daughters, Mary Alice Cuellar, Rose Marie Vega and husband, Danny, and Irene Garza and husband, Alfonzo, all of Odessa; mother, Lydia Cuellar of Odessa; brothers, Robert Cuellar of Austin and Pete Cuellar, Roy Cuellar and Joe Cuellar, all of Odessa; sisters, Connie Ramirez of Odessa and Tanya Denver of Seattle, WA.; 10 grandchildren, Jenney G. Martinez, Daniel Vega, Amanda Almendarez, John Almendarez, Nicholas Vega, Vianca Almendarez, Michael Almendarez, Anthony Vega, Victoria Garza and Alyssa Garza; and six great-grandchildren, Amari Olivan, Alysson Olivan, Jesiah Olivan, Alan Olivan, Alexia Almendarez and Ethan Marin.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday Nov. 4, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 5, 2004, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Francis Frey officiating, Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
On behalf of the family, we would like to thank Dr. Agusala, Dr. Kodi, Dr. Khandelwal and everyone at the West Texas Cancer Center and also everyone on the 4th and 5th floor who attended Daddy at Medical Center Hospital.
