Helen Gallaway

ODESSA — Helen Gallaway, age 83, of Odessa, passed away Aug. 13, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital.
Helen was born Dec. 4, 1920, in Charleston, Ark. She married Edwin Gallaway on Jan. 28, 1943. He preceded her in death in February 1983.
Her parents; four brothers; one sister; and a granddaughter, Robin Casey also preceded her in death.
She was a 52-year resident of Odessa and had worked 30 years for ECISD as a food services manager. She had worked at Pease, Burleson and San Jacinto elementary schools. She was a member of the OSFSA. Her favorite hobby was spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Survivors include her daughters, Edwina Hoffman and husband Gerald of Odessa and Carol Wadzeck and husband Bud also of Odessa; sisters-in-law, Naomi Pursley of Longview and Kate Goodwin of Ozark, Ark.; four grandchildren, Scott Hoffman and wife Betsy, Kristen Mangus and husband Donny, Ted Wadzeck and Gary Bud Wadzeck; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Kay Wadzeck and Jonathan Mangus.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Mike Bartlett officiating. The family will receive visitors from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly.
The family requests donations be made to the Greenfield Acres Baptist Church.
Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
