Velma Borthick Lyons

ODESSA — Velma Borthick Lyons, 85, a long-time resident of Odessa, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2004, at the Hospice House after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 31, 1918, in Webb City, Missouri. Mrs. Lyons married Lawrence Baldwin Lyons August 8, 1939 in Bristow, OK. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1998.
Mrs. Lyons was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church. The joys of her life and activities centered around her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Scott and husband Kenneth of Dallas, Mary Summers and husband Ed of Houston; six grandchildren, Dr. Zachary Scott, Hal and Camelia Scott, John Charles Scott, Callie and Cyrille Pannier, Tyler Summers and Tobin Summers.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2004, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Terry Tamplen officiating.
