ODESSA — Minta Marie Moseley was born October 25, 1913, in Cloud Chief, Washita County, Okla., to Cortis and Jessie Ida Sloan.
She went from her earthly home to be with Jesus on Good Friday, April 9, 2004. She was 90 years, 5 months and 15 days old.
Her funeral will be at Westover Baptist Church, Odessa, Texas, April 14, at 4 p.m. with Bro. Wesley “Buddy” Cobb and Bro. Terry Wright officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa.
Visitation will be at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Tuesday, April 13, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Rev. Roy E. Moseley; her parents, Cortis and Jessie Sloan; six brothers; twin infants (unnamed), Kenneth, Ed, Orville and Clyde Sloan; one sister, Wanda Jo McAnaw; and one granddaughter.
Her survivors are her daughter and husband, Jean and Gene Roberts; two grandsons and their wives, Geneo and Rebecca Roberts and Jaroy and Tina Roberts; and three great-grandsons, Gene Austin, Roy and Joshua, and great-granddaughter, Hannah Megan Marie Roberts, all of Odessa, Texas; one sister and her husband, Elese and Floyd Steckman of Carnegie, Okla.; one brother and wife, Bobby and Veronica Sloan of Bethany, Okla.; two sisters-in-law, Daphna Sloan and Norma Sloan, both of Mountain View, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a faithful member of Westover Baptist Church in Odessa, Texas. She truly loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, then her family, her church and the missionaries. She supported the missionaries every day with her prayers and gave over 10% of her small income to her church and the missionaries. All of her family knew she was always praying for them and that she loved them dearly. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
In place of flowers, please give a memorial to Westover Baptist Church Building Fund, or to the Westover Baptist Church Missionary Fund or to your church or a charity of your choice.
Pallbearers will be Delton Brazell, Billy Hall, Larry Kiker, Dale Meece, Dwane Tucker, and John Washburn. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bennie Garcia, Bennie Kiker and Perry Young.
