OA Jan 21 2004

ODESSA — On January 19, 2004, after a valiant battle with cancer, our dear one went home to be with Jesus. Cheryl Melvin was born on Sept. 8, 1945, in Knox City, Texas. She married Joe Bob Motley on Oct. 18, 1968, in Odessa, Texas.
She was a faithful member of University Park Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and took an active role in the women’s ministry as well as the kitchen committee. She also volunteered for numerous projects, including the Baptist Crisis Center once a week. Mrs. Motley was an avid gardener who provided many people with fruits of her labors. She took joy in caring for her family and friends and will be missed greatly by all. She was a wonderful wife, momma and grandma.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Bob Motley; daughter and son-in-law, Cheri and Ray Stull; son, William Mundy; and grandchildren, Christian Stull, Joey Stull, Christopher Mundy and one on the way. She is also survived by her mother, Christine Melvin; brothers, Richard and Sonny; sister, Louise; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at University Park Baptist Church, 8650 N. Golder, with Rev. Jimmy Hull officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family asks that memorials be directed to Hospice House of Odessa, 903 N. Sam Houston, and University Park Baptist Church, 8605 N. Golder. We love you, Momma! Rest in peace.
