ODESSA — Perry Maxwell "Max" Davis left his earthly home Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, to be forever in his new home in Heaven with Jesus.
He was born Feb. 6, 1943, in Borger to parents, Perry Enlo and Gwendolyn Maxwell Davis.  He lived most of his life in Odessa, graduating from Permian High School and attending Odessa College.  He married his high school sweetheart, Margaret Young, Aug. 18, 1962. He along with his father and brother owned and operated Davis Enterprises. Max also owned Chaparral Disposal, Inc.  His father preceded him in death, as did a dear nephew, Jamie Haiduk. Max will be missed very much by family and friends, he was loved by many.
Surviving him is his wife, Margaret Davis; son, Perry Davis; daughters, Christi Derington and Mistie Schumpert and her husband Dana; grandchildren, Jacob and Brittany Derington, D. J., Dion and Savana Gwen Schumpert; his mother, Gwendolyn and her loving husband, the Rev. Reed Gipson, who dearly loved Max; a brother, Dwain Davis and his wife Ann; sisters, Daina Perkins, Karen Jaeger and her husband Dan; longtime friend, Steve Perkins; and many nieces and nephews.  Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Bethel Assembly of God Church with the Revs. John VanHoose and Paul Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
