Paulino Salinas
ODESSA On November 22, 2004, Paulino Salinas went home to be with the Lord. Mr. Salinas was born August 19, 1937, in Agualeguas, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to father, Jose Salinas and mother, Severa Peña Salinas, who both preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his five brothers, Genaro, Manuel, Felix, Loy, Mario, Jose and Guillermo Salinas and two sisters, Lucinda San Miguel and Dominga San Miguel.
Paulino was raised and educated in Agualeguas. At age 15, he came to the United States with his family to make a better life. There was nothing that he loved more than music and fellowship with his family. He later returned to marry his school sweetheart, Elvira Ruiz, on December 28, 1958. They settled in Odessa in 1975, to raise their two daughters.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elvira Salinas of Odessa; daughters, Teresa Sotelo and husband, Herman, and Rosalba Renteria and husband, Ismael, all from Odessa; two sisters, Juanita Rodriguez of Goliad, Texas, and Esther Leal of Odessa. He was blessed with six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2004, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Joe Uecker officiating, with interment following at Ector County Cemetery Rose Hill Section. A rosary was said at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Martinez Funeral Home.
Services are under the direction of Martinez Funeral Home.
