Geneva W. Deckert

ODESSA — Geneva W. Deckert was born on July 1, 1920, in Brookhaven, Miss., to Samuel and Jesby White. Ms. Deckert passed away on Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at Seabury Nursing Center in Odessa. She was 83.
Geneva married Robert Deckert on May 7, 1942 in Roswell, N.M. They shared forty years together before his death in 1982. Geneva was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Robert Nichols Deckert; daughter, Frances Jordan Ray, who passed away Feb. 27, 2002; sons, William Jordan, who passed away Dec. 19, 2002, and Leonard Ray Deckert, who passed away Nov. 14, 2003; and a son-in-law, Weldon Ray Rose, who passed away May 21, 2001.
She is survived by her three daughters, Rose Alice Ashby of Eldorado, Ill., Doris Fay D’Allesandro of Waco, Texas, and Linda Kay Rose of Garland, Texas; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004, at the Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Odessa.
