ODESSA — Escolastico “El Rey” Bustamante, 71, of Odessa, a truck driver, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, at Hospice House in Odessa.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Friday at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Uecker Officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Odessa Funeral Home.
He was born in Presidio. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Guadalupe A. Bustamante of Odessa; son, Manuel Bustamante of Odessa; daughters, Eva B. Duran, Eloisa Hernandez, Belsora B. Lara and Monica Bustamante, all of Odessa; sisters, Eva Chavez of Odessa and Amelia Barriga of Presidio; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

ODESSA — Escolastico “El Rey” Bustamante, 71, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, at the Hospice House. He was born May 24, 1932, in Presidio to Escolastico Sr. and Eloisa E. Bustamante. He was a Christian Catholic and a truck driver. Mr. Bustamante was preceded in death by his parents. Five brothers, Manuel, Alberto, Abel, Juan, and Escolastico Bustamante Jr. Three sisters, Thomasa Barriga, Dolores Alvarez and Amelia Espinoza.
He is survived by his wife, Guadalupe A. Bustamante of Odessa; son, Manuel Bustamante of Odessa; daughters, Eva B. Duran of Odessa, Eloisa Hernandez of Odessa, Belsora B. Lara of Odessa and Monica Bustamante of Odessa; sisters, Eva Chavez of Odessa, Amelia Barriga of Presidio; 13 grandchildren: Leo Hernandez, Victoria Hernandez, Chris Hernandez, Emily Hernandez, Jose A. Duran, Krystal B. Duran, Reynaldo B. Duran, Jasmine M. Bustamante, Melinda S. Bustamante, Breanna Rae B. Ramirez, Daniel J. Bustamante, Gabriela Eva T. Bustamante, Kriselda E. Lara; and one great-grandchild: Destiny Rivas; and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
We, the family, would like to express our utmost sincere gratitude to the staff at Home Hospice and the Hospice House especially to Georgia and Dina, for the wonderful care that was given to our beloved Father and Grandfather.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today Jan. 16, 2004, at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Uecker officiating. Burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his son and his grandchildren. Services by Odessa Funeral Home.
