Joel Moseley Grave

Jackson Co. Cemeteries of Oklahoma
Submitted by Patti O'Bannon
This is the only grave in this burial site. The grave is on the north side of the road. It has been covered with concrete, it is well maintained, marked, and at theof my visit, had flowers on it. There is horseshoe concrete, it is well maintained, marked, and at theof my visit, had flowers on it. There is horseshoe imbedded in the concrete which would imply that the story of Joel Moseley being a cowboy is true.
After doing some checking, I learned that Joel Moseley was born in Georgia. He was married and his wife died in Texas many years after he died in Oklahoma. He has a granddaughter living in Texas who was responsible for the concrete cover on his grave.
Directions: From Highway 62 west, turn onto Highway 6 (toward Olustee). Turn West onto Prairie Hill Road. Go approximately 1-1/2 miles. The grave will be on the North Hill Road. Go approximately 1-1/2 miles. The grave will be on the North side of the road very near the ditch. The grave is BEFORE the old school building which is falling down (if you are going west). If you are coming from the West, the grave will be about 1/2 mile past the old school building.
