Nine year old Dena Lynn Gore was murdered on July 22, 1986. Her killer, Terry Clark, was executed for that murder on November 6, 2001, the first execution in New Mexico in 40 years. The back of the marker reads: "This childs death made attempted changes in the laws of the state of New Mexico. (And to this child was given a beautiful memorial from all concerned citizens).
