Hamilton, West Feliciana Parish, Louisiana
The cemetery is between St. Francisville and Jackson. One-sixth mile from the Jct. of Hwy 965 and Freeland Road.
 
James Hamilton who departed this life Oct 10th 1848, aged 52 years 9 months 31 days. Long flat stone, broken in several large peaces. There are some bricks near the son. Notes: James F. Hamilton born Dec 9th 1785 died Oct 10th 1848 married June 10th 1811 to Harriet M. Morris in Woodville, MS. He was the son of James Hamilton and Margaret Brown. He was the father of Elvira Elenia Porter, James M. Hamilton, George Morris Hamilton, Margaret Beatrice Grover, Willis L. Hamilton, Sarah M. Bowman, Harriet Jane Hamilton, Frances Ann Robbins, John F. Hamilton, Henry Charles Hamilton and Mary L. Hamilton.
 
Long flat stone, broken in several large peaces; next to James Hamilton. This is believed to be Harriet M. Morris. Notes: Harriet M. Morris born 1796 died Jan 26th 1860 married June 10th 1811 to James F. Hamilton in Woodville, MS. She was the daughter of Marbury I. Morris and Sarah Semple. She was the mother of Elvira Elenia Porter, James M. Hamilton, George Morris Hamilton, Margaret Beatrice Grover, Willis L. Hamilton, Sarah M. Bowman, Harriet Jane Hamilton, Frances Ann Robbins, John F. Hamilton, Henry Charles Hamilton and Mary L. Hamilton.
 
The next row of headstones are in a semi-cercal around the two flat stones.
 
Franklin K. Hamilton born 21 July 1867 died 26 Dec 1895, aged 28 years 5 months 5 days. Tall then headstone broken in half. Notes: Franklin K. Hamilton born July 21st 1867 died Dec 26th 1895 married Dec 26 1895 to Virginia Beatrice Ard in St. Francisville, LA.  He was the son of Willis L. Hamilton and Minerva Ann Brady. He was the father of Louie K. Hamilton.
 
Willis L. Hamilton born 4 July 1867 died 4 May 1893, aged 72 years 10 months. Tall thin headstone. Notes: Willis L. Hamilton born July 4th 1867 died May 4th 1893 married May 25th 1850 to Minerva Ann Brady in St. Francisville, LA. He was the son of James F. Hamilton and Harriet M. Morris. He was the father of Clara I. McConnell, Emma Catherine Ball, Walter B./F. Hamilton, James Vance Hamilton, Willis Alexander Hamilton, Henry E. Hamilton, William Edger Hamilton, Ida Quine, Fred Ogden Hamilton, Frank Hamilton, Franklin K. Hamilton, Lawrence Hamilton, Lawson Hamilton and two unknown daughters.
 
M. A. Brady born 28 Sept 1826 died 17 June 1903. Tall thin headstone. Notes: Minerva Ann Brady born Sept 28th 1829 died June 17th 1903 married May 25th 1850 to Willis L. Hamilton in St. Francisville, LA. She was the daughter of Alexander E. Brady and Harriet C. Keller. She was the mother of Clara I. McConnell, Emma Catherine Ball, Walter B./F. Hamilton, James Vance Hamilton, Willis Alexander Hamilton, Henry E. Hamilton, William Edger Hamilton, Ida Quine, Fred Ogden Hamilton, Frank Hamilton, Franklin K. Hamilton, Lawrence Hamilton, Lawson Hamilton and two unknown daughters.
 
William Edger Hamilton born 3 April 1858 died 30 April 1892, aged 34 years 27 days. "A brave spirit lies here who died a glorious death in His Country's Cause." Headstone is in three large complete peaces; top peace looks like the Washington Monument. Notes: William Edger Hamilton Sr. born April 3rd died April 30th 1892 married May 17th 1879 to Eva Dashiell Ball in St. Francisville, LA. He was the son of Willis L. Hamilton and Minerva Ann Brady. He was the father of William Edger Hamilton Jr. and Julia Ann Tooraen.
 
James M. Hamilton born 1816 died 22 March 1837, age 21 years. Tall then headstone. Notes: He was the son of James F. Hamilton and Harriet M. Morris. Never married and no children.
 
Elvira Hamilton wife of Reese A. Porter, died 28 March 1847, age 34 years. Tall thin headstone. Notes: Elvira Elenia Hamilton born 1813 died March 28th 1847 married March 7 1837 to Rev. Reese A. Porter in St Francisville, LA. She was the daughter of James F. Hamilton and Harriet M. Morris. She was the mother of  Elvira Elenia Blackman, Margaret Beatrice Blackman and Thomas J. Porter.
 
To the memory of Sarah M. Hamilton wife of Samuel S. Bowman, died 9 April 1847 age 24 years and Her Infant Sons died 13 Dec 1834 and 23 Oct 1845. Tall thin headstone, lying down. Notes: Sarah M. Hamilton born 1823 died April 9th 1847 married Jan 1st 1843 to Samuel S. Bowman in Woodville, MS. She was the mother of Unknown Boy Bowman and Unknown Boy Bowman.

Martha B. Ard wife of J. W. Ard, Interred into rest 3 Aug 1908. Tall thin headstone. Notes: Martha Elizabeth Bateman born 1840 died Aug 3rd 1908 married to John Wesley Ard. She was the daughter of Jason Dupree Bateman and Margaret Thingpin. She was the mother of Fannie Sarah Hamilton, Allen Wayne Ard, Ken W. Ard, Walter Briant Ard Sr., Virginia Beatrice Hamilton, Rufus Roscoe Ard and Mary Ard.
 
John W. Ard born 14 Feb 1840 died 1 June 1907, aged 67 years. Tall thin headstone. Notes: John Wesley Ard born Feb 14th 1840 died June 1st 1907 married to Martha Elizabeth Bateman. He was the son of John S. Ard and Mary Unknown.  He was the father of Fannie Sarah Hamilton, Allen Wayne Ard, Ken W. Ard, Walter Briant Ard Sr., Virginia Beatrice Hamilton, Rufus Roscoe Ard and Mary Ard.
 
Rufus R. Ard born 27 March 1871 died 10 Sept 1900. Tall thin headstone, lying down. Notes: Rufus Roscoe Ard born March 27th 1871 died Sept 10th 1900 married Nov 15th 1893 to Sallie L. Kennedy. He was the son of John Wesley Ard and Martha Elizabeth Bateman. He was the father of Fannie Beatrice Ard Hamilton.
 
Walter B. Ard born 5 Feb 1816 died 24 Feb 1890. Tall thin headstone. Notes: Walter Briant Ard Sr. born Feb. 5th 1816 died Feb 24th 1890 married Oct 18th 1888 to Mary Eleanor Davis. He was the son of John Wesley Ard and Martha Elizabeth Bateman. He was the father of Walter Briant Ard Jr.
 
Walter B. Ard Jr. born 5 April 1890 died 28 Nov 1891. Notes: Walter B. Ard Jr. born April 5th 1890 died  Nov 28th 1891 never married. He was the son of Walter Briant Ard Sr. and Mary Eleanor Davis.
 
Virginia Beatrice Ard born 2 Sept 1867 died 24 Feb 1896. Short thick headstone with lamb on it. Notes: Virginia Beatrice Ard born Sept 2nd 1867 died Feb 24th 1896 married Dec 26 1895 to Franklin K. Hamilton in St. Francisville, LA.  She was the daughter of John Wesley Ard and Martha Elizabeth Bateman. She was the mother of Louie K. Hamilton.

Allen Wayne Ard no dates. This is a Woodman of the World Memorial headstone. The stone is large, thick and laying deep in the grave. Grave is badly suck in. Dates thought to be on other side of stone. Notes: Allen Wayne Ard born April 5th 1890 died July 31st 1929 married to Sallie J. Ford; also married Dec 16th 1923 to Cynthia Cornelia Adams. He was the son of John Wesley Ard and  Martha Elizabeth Bateman. He was the father of Fred Ottis Ard.
 
Mrs. Sallie Ford Ard born 13 June 1871 died 19 April 1922. Short thick headstone with lamb on it. Notes: Sallie J. Ford born June 13th 1871 died April 19th 1922 married to Allen Wayne Ard. She was the daughter of Harrison Ford and Margaret Farr. She was the mother of Fred Ottis Ard.
 
Fred Ottis Ard son of A. W. and S. J. Ard, born 19 July 1894 died 5 March 1900. Notes: Fred Ottis Ard born 19 July 1894 died 5 March 1900 never married. He was the son of Allen Wayne Ard and Sallie J. Ford.
 
Sacred to the memory of Our Mother, L. M. Lucas wife of C. L. Collins, born 17 Jan 1843 died 5 April 1907. This is a long flat stone. This stone is off to itself, several feet from the other graves. Notes: I have found no information on this couple.
 
There are several unmarked stones and sunk in places believed to be more graves.
