Annie Williams Adams

MANSFIELD, LA - Annie Williams Adams, an educator and longtime resident of Mansfield, died Nov. 24, 2006 in McKinney, Texas. She was 93.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, December 1 at Corinth Baptist Church, 139 Richards St., Mansfield. A celebration of life service will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, December 2 at Northwest Auditorium in Mansfield.

Mrs. Adams was born in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana on January 18, 1913. She completed her high school education in Pineland, Texas and Northwest Institute in Mansfield. After graduating from high school, she matriculated to Grambling College in 1935 and completed the required program at that time. The four year degree was offered later at which time she returned to complete the requirements.

Mrs. Adams received the Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 1949 from Grambling College. She received the Master of Science in Elementary Education from Texas Southern University in 1960.

Her life was full of Christian warmth and love. She will best be remembered for living God's word and practicing the joy of service to others.

Preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Roosevelt Adams. She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Jean Dickerson (Horace) of Allen, Texas; Cummie Robinson (Johnnie) of LaPlace, Louisiana. She leaves 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
