Christine Tuminello LeGrand

St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rambin, DeSoto, LA

BOSSIER CITY, LA - Mrs. Christine Tuminello LeGrand, 58, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2006. Visitation will be held at Osborn Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 from 5 until 7 p.m. followed by a vigil service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12th at the Cathedral of St. John Berchmans. Celebrating the Mass will be Msgr. Carson LaCaze and Msgr. Earl V. Provenza assisted by Fr. Pike Thomas, Fr. Derek Pawlowski, Fr. Thomas Vadakemury and Fr. Rothell Price. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery – Community of Rambin, LA.

Mrs. LeGrand was a native of Shreveport and a resident of Bossier City for 58 years. She was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church, past President of Christ The King Parents Club, Parish Council, was a lector and very involved with her church family. She has been a member and President of the Louisiana National Guard Officer's Wives Club and very involved with Junior Achievement. She previously served as president of the Hospitality Committee at Bossier Parish Community College. Christine was currently serving as Director of Development/Alumni at Bossier Parish Community College.

Mrs. LeGrand was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, T. L. and Martha Bonomo; paternal grandparents, Anthony and Ernestine Tuminello; sister, Cindy Shelton; in-law's, Murry and Lillie LeGrand; and brother-in-laws, Danny and William LeGrand.

She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, John M. LeGrand, Jr.; parents, Johnny A. and Mary Elizabeth Bonomo Tuminello; two daughters, Lisa LeGrand Aguirre, husband Gary; Tiffany LeGrand Joyner, husband Sean; one grandchild, Landon Martin Joyner; two sisters, Vickie Williams, husband Kenny, Martha Peters, husband Mark; brother-in-law, David Shelton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be David Breitschopf, Justin Breitschopf, Regimantas Butvydas, Rickey Gilbert, Clifford Oliver, Russell Cappo, Shawn McCalister and Nicholas Peters.

Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Mitchell, Tom Carlton, John Evans, Sr., Daniel McGrath, Steve Cherry, Robert Mitchell, Scott Oliphint, Will Hubbard, Gary Mitchell, Ralph Merritt, Percy Hubbard, Brant Peters, Michael McCalister and Wayne Goodwin.

The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 920 Pierremont Rd., Shreveport, 71106.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Pat Connor, Dr. John D. Gladney and Dr. Alan Borne; all of the staff members of Christus Schumpert's Cancer Treatment Center, 3rd floor and all of the staff at Grace Home, in addition to Bossier Parish Community College Staff, Citizens National Bank Officers, Directors and Employees and the Louisiana Army National Guard.

Christine enjoyed travel, reading, gardening and all activities with her family, especially her grandson, Landon.

I have had an exemplary life, in my choice of a husband, Blessed with Lisa and Tiffany and their choice of husband's Gary and Sean, all of my extended family and friends, however my world became complete when we were blessed with our grandson, Landon Martin Joyner.
