W.R. 'Robbie' Shadowens

CARTHAGE – Services for William Robert "Robbie" Shadowens, 58, of Keatchie, La., will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006, at Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Scott and Randy Lindsy officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Baptist Cemetery in DeSoto Parish, La., under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. 

Mr. Shadowens died Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, in Shreveport, La. He was born June 16, 1947, in Carthage to Fred and Eva Lois Westmoreland Shadowens. He began his education at rural DeBerry schools, later attending Carthage schools. He worked in construction in the oil field and as a well site supervisor. He married Joan Bagley in October 1982, and attended Shiloh Baptist Church. 

Mr. Shadowens is survived by one son, Robert Wayne Shadowens of Waco; his stepchildren, Dana Dudley of Chrino, Jackie Lansdale of Gloster, La., Robert Harris of DeBerry, Joe Harris of DeBerry, Kenneth Harris of Keatchie, La., and Jennifer Harris of DeBerry; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers, Freddy Shadowens of Dallas, Jimmy Shadowens of Jefferson and Johnny Shadowens of DeBerry; other relatives and friends. 

Pallbearers will be Robert Harris, Joe Harris, Kenny Harris, C.J. Shadowens, Josh Lansdale and Jim Lansdale. 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
