The Shreveport Times Friday, January 13, 2006 Billie Moise Garlington Pelican Cemetery, DeSoto Parish, LA HOUMA, LA - Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 16, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma, LA for Billie Moise Garlington. Mrs. Garlington was born on November 6, 1922, in Morgan City, and died at her home in Houma, Louisiana on January 11, 2006. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on January 15, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the Pelican Cemetery in Pelican, Louisiana. Rev. Barry Hoekstra, First United Methodist Church of Houma, and Rev. Henry Bowdon, former pastor, will conduct the service. Rev. Doris Sheppard, Pelican UMC, will conduct the graveside service. Mrs. Garlington was preceded in death by her parents Violet Harless Moise and Albert Joseph Moise; her husband Vergil Leslie Garlington; two brothers, Ike Moise and William Moise; and her infant sister, Joanne Moise. She is survived by her son, Bruce Garlington and his wife, Virginia of Pelican, LA; two daughters: Donna Gleason and her husband Mike of Ocean, NJ, and Patricia Thibodeau and her husband Chris of Victoria, B.C., Canada; eight grandchildren, Michelle Alessi, and husband Mark, Mark Gleason, and wife Dessi, Matthew Gleason, Mitchell Garlington, Marshall Garlington and wife Julie, Brian, Renee, and Nicole Thibodeau, and four great grandchildren, Ashley and Thomas Alessi, Haven and Seamus Garlington also survive. Other survivors are her sister-in-law, Sally Moise; nephew, Mike Moise and wife Molly; nieces: Sharon Chapman and husband Martin and Kathy Moise, as well as many other relatives and devoted friends. Mrs. Garlington graduated from Oakdale High School, and attended Northwestern State University (The Normal) in Natchitoches. She was a member of the First UMC of Houma, and belonged to the Adult Sunday School class, the United Methodist Women, and the Agape Bible Study group. Billie and her late husband enjoyed traveling in their motor home, and particularly the trips with their friends in the Methodist camping group, and the Exxon travel club. Serving as pallbearers will be: Mark Gleason, Mitchell Garlington, Mike Moise, Matthew Gleason, George Geoffroy, Michelle Alessi, and NicoIe Thibodeau, Brian Thibodeau and Randy Greer.
