He attended Louisiana Tech University for three years, and then served the next three years in the Air Force during World War II in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1949 from LSU Law School in Baton Rouge, after which he opened a law practice in Bossier City, marking the beginning of a long and distinguished legal career. During his time at LSU he met and married Joyce Maurine Walker, his beloved first wife and mother of his four children. Judge Price was elected City Judge of Bossier City in 1954 and Judge of the 26th Judicial District Court for Bossier and Webster parishes in 1960. In 1969 he was elected to the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeal. He was elevated to Chief Judge in 1979 and served in that capacity until his retirement in 1985. He also served by assignment on the Louisiana Supreme Court and was a past Chairman of the Louisiana Conference of Court of Appeal Judges. After retirement he did arbitration work for the law firm of Peters, Ward, Bright and Hennessy. He enjoyed many friendships with fellow members of the Shreveport Syndicate, the Shreveport Club, Palmetto Country Club and his running group at the Downtown YMCA. Judge Price was an avid runner for years and participated in many races including two triathlons while in his fifties. Another beloved past time was attending to his family's land in his hometown of Logansport, which he visited often. He married Flo Whittington Bigby after the death of his first wife Joyce and they enjoyed nine years of marriage. His devotion to serving others went far beyond his legal career. Whether as a devoted father, husband, grandfather, family member or friend, his life could be defined by his care giving nature, always concerned about others before himself. He took care of his first wife Joyce during her affliction with Alzheimer's. In spite of his many family responsibilities, he cared for and helped many other relatives and friends over the years.
