Donnie C. Nelson 
Highland Cemetery, Mansfield, LA

MANSFIELD, LA - Funeral services for Donnie C. Nelson, 92, will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2006 at Rose-Neath Chapel in Mansfield, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Joe Waggener, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, Mansfield, LA, assisted by Dr. Jerry Penfield, pastor of First Baptist Church, Zwolle, LA. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Mansfield, LA. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at the funeral home. 

Mrs. Nelson passed away Sunday, January 29, 2006 at Willis-Knighton Hospital, Shreveport, LA. She was born in Union, MS. She taught school for a few years of her life but her greatest accomplishment in life was being a minister's wife dedicated to serving, helping, and supporting her husband in his ministry.

Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her daughter, Dorothy Nelson Sorensen. 

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Rev. Arnold F. Nelson of Mansfield, LA; daughter, Charlotte Nelson of Mansfield, LA; sisters: Opal Winstead of Enterprise, MS; Bessie Rush of Union, MS; brother, Orlan Winstead of MS; two grandchildren: Lisa Alexander and Leif Sorensen; one great grandchild, Neil Alexander. 

Pallbearers will be John Higgins, Donny Smith, Roger Whitlock, Jerry Lowe, Alfred Flanders and Dana Deas. Honorary pallbearers will be the Welcome Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church, Mansfield, LA.
