The Shreveport Times Wednesday, January 18, 2006 Seth Marvin Morehead, Jr. Grand Cane Cemetery, DeSoto Parish, LA SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Seth Marvin Morehead, Jr., 71, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 19, 2006 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel. Officiating will be Dr. Tom Harrison. Interment will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Grand Cane Cemetery, Grand Cane, LA. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Funeral Home. Seth was born August 15, 1934 in Houston, TX and passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at Christus Schumpert Highland after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Shreveport, he was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church. After graduation from C.E. Byrd High School, Seth signed a baseball contract and pitched in the Major Leagues for 13 years. Upon retirement from baseball, he graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Business. Seth began a second career in banking and retired in 1999 after 36 years of service. He was currently employed with Life of Louisiana Insurance Company. His parents, Seth Marvin, Sr. and Staley Rogers Morehead, preceded Seth in death. Survivors are his wife, Joan Roppolo Morehead; daughter, Ashley Joan and husband, James Wesley Brint; grandson, Garrett James Brint; brother, Hall Staley Morehead; and father-in-law, Angelo Roppolo, all of Shreveport, LA. Serving, as pallbearers will be Richard D. Roppolo, R.C. McCoy, III, Joe C. Harbert and James Wesley Brint. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan J. Smith and Harry M. Jarred. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Shreveport/Bossier Rescue Mission, Salvation Army, Hurricane Relief Program or the charity of the donor's choice.
