Obituaries Thursday, February 10, 2005 Marshall News Messenger George Lavone Bozeman Hawthorn Funeral Home Shiloh Methodist Cemetery, DeSoto Parish, LA CARTHAGE - Funeral services for George Lavone Bozeman, 76, of Carthage will be 2 p.m. today at Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne T. Fontenot officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Methodist Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mr. Bozeman died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, in Carthage. He was born May 17, 1928, in the Shiloh Community in DeSoto Parish, La. He attended rural Longstreet schools and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Mr. Bozeman married Vesta Hooper in 1952. Before retirement, he was employed as an iron worker with Fab Steel. He was a long-time member and deacon of Midyett Baptist Church. Mr. Bozeman is survived by his wife, Vesta Hooper Bozeman of Center; two sons, Ricky Bozeman and Barry Bozeman, both of Carthage; one daughter, Vickie Johnson of Corpus Christi; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Frank Bozeman of Spring, Huey Bozeman of Carthage, Jerry Bozeman of Shreveport, La., and Ronnie Bozeman of Mont Belvieu; two sisters, Estelle Helton of Elysian Fields and Alpha Anderson of Santa Fe; special friends and neighbors, Dick Funderburg and Bro. T-Bone Fontenot; other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Ricky Bozeman, Barry Bozeman, Jeremy Bozeman, Frank Bozeman, Huey Bozeman, and Ronnie Bozeman. The family suggests donations be made to Midyett Baptist Church, 601 CR 326, Carthage, Texas 75633.
