Mayfield, 66, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2005 at Rose-Neath Mansfield Chapel. Interment will follow in Old Union Cemetery, Benson Community, Louisiana. Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2005 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Mansfield, LA. Mr. Mayfield died Friday, June 3, 2005 in Pineville, LA. He was born in Oil City, Louisiana and was a welder. He was a resident of Catuna, LA for 62 years and had just recently moved, four years ago, to live at the V.A. Nursing Home in Pineville, LA. James was in the United States Army. During his time in the U.S. Army, he was a military policeman. One of his highlights in life was to go hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Elizabeth Mayfield. Survivors include two daughters Vicki Hubbard and husband Steve, and Pam Garcia and husband Joe, both of Mansfield, LA; one sister Linda Rhea and husband Richard; one brother Jerry Mayfield and wife Mary Frances; and two grandchildren Brooke Brumley and Cody Hubbard.Rose-Neath Funeral Home Mansfield, LA 318-872-4660 Published on June 05, 2005.
