Luella Dawson Fuller

FRIERSON, LA - Funeral services for Luella Dawson Fuller, 85, will be held at Winnfield Funeral Home on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Robert Lister officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Highway 5 in Kingston, Louisiana.

After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Mrs. Fuller passed away peacefully with her husband of 68 years by her side. She was born October 12, 1920 in Shreveport, LA to the late Bessie Hall and Matel Dawson, Sr. She accepted Christ at an early age at St. Mary Baptist Church and later united with Philadelphia Seventh-Day Adventist Church where she remained until her death.

Mrs. Fuller will always be remembered for being the most wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her neighbors as she loved herself. It was a joy for her to share her talents of excellent cooking and sewing with her family and friends.

Mrs. Fuller was preceded in death by five brothers, one daughter, Joan Cheatham, and two grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband, Haynes Fuller; brother, Clyde Dawson, Detroit, MI; sons, Ecotry (Althia) Fuller of Shreveport, LA, Alonzo (Mary) Fuller of Los Angeles, CA and Anthony (Maria) Fuller of Longview, TX; Freddie Johnson of Los Angeles, CA, Jesse (Vernita) Murray of Shreveport, LA; daughters, Joyce (Alvin) Carter of Shreveport, LA, Michelle (Dexter) Neal of Rex, GA and Jimmie Noble of Los Angeles, CA; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Also dear to her heart were her bonus daughters-her niece Ms. Gloridous Drake, Mrs. Lucille Larkins, Mrs. Mary Roberison, and Mrs. Harriet Williams.

The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff and nurses at Christus Schumpert Grace Home for the love and professional care given to our loved one. A special thanks goes to Ruth Chambers, Mary Roberison, Gloridous Drake, Eura Dell Wilson, Sinclair "Bug" Fuller, Mount Moriah Baptist Church and Community.
