Obituaries The Shreveport Times Wednesday, July 14, 2005 Iva Mae Smith Sparks Highland Cemetery, Mansfield, DeSoto, LA MANSFIELD, LA - Graveside services for Mrs. Iva Sparks will be held Friday, July 15 at 10 a.m. in the Highland Cemetery, Mansfield, Louisiana. Officiating will be Rev. Bob Miller. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, July 14 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Mansfield. Mrs. Sparks, age 87, was born March 7, 1918 in the Hunter Community and was a life long resident of Mansfield. She passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2005 following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tennie Lamar Sparks; sons: Harold Glen Sparks of Plaquemine, Louisiana and Jackie Wayne Sparks of Grand Cane, Louisiana; grandson, Hayes Sparks of Plaquemine; parents, John Wesley and Elizabeth Smith; brothers: John Wesley (J.W.) Smith, Jr. and Elmo Smith and sisters: Ruby Davidson Harlan Tener and Ruth Richey. She is survived by her daughter, Delores Bridges and husband, Willis of Mansfield; daughters-in-law, Kathleen Reinhardt Sparks of Plaquemine and Terry Elliott Sparks of Grand Cane; sister, Esther Bailey of Hunter; four grandsons: Jason Sparks and wife, Marissa of Grand Cane; Adam Sparks and wife, Meredith of Mansfield; Hamilton Sparks and Harrison Sparks of Plaquemine; step grandson, Willis Bridges, Jr. and wife, Patti of Whitebluff, Tennessee; two great grandchildren: Joshua and Melody Sparks of Grand Cane and step great grandchildren: Mark Houston and Dusti Bridges of Whitebluff and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews all loved and remembered but too numerous to name. A special thank you to her niece, Sandra Blunt who took care of her when her immediate family for various reasons were unable to visit and check in on her; to Dr. Jeffery Evans for his care and patience over many years and to the management and staff of Mansfield Nursing Center who provided her with a loving and caring home over the last several years.
