The Shreveport Times Tuesday, November 22, 2005 Mr. Julius (Jack) Niten Forest Park West Cemetery, Shreveport, LA GRAND CANE, LA - Funeral services for Julius (Jack) Niten, 77, of Grand Cane, LA will be held at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel, Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. Reverend Ron McLellan, Pastor of Gloster Baptist Church, will officiate. Masonic Rit3s will be given at the conclusion of the Chapel service. Mr. Niten will be honored with military rites at Forest Park West Cemetery on Meriwether Road. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Monday, November 21, 2005 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Mr. Niten was born January 14, 1928 in Montgomery, LA to Julius Niten, Sr. and Florence Welch Niten. He passed away Saturday, November 19, 2005 at Willis-Knighton Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Mr. Niten was a member of Gloster Baptist Church and the Goldonna Masonic Lodge. Mr. Niten proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was retired from Riley Beaird. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, LaNelle Niten; his half-sister, Barbara Bomprezzi and husband, Jim of Lakeland, TN; his children, Kathy Fonville and husband, Andy of Blanchard; Nancy Fallis and husband, James of Keithville; Mike Niten and wife, Ana of Shreveport; Janet Vigil of Katy, TX; Tracie Abney and husband, Chris of Shreveport; and Tommy Niten and wife, Kristi of Keatchie. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Niten was preceded in death by his parents, a twin sister and a grandson, Kevin Fonville. Pallbearers will be Jay Burford, Hall Burford, David King, Mack Vance, Charles Burford, and Joe Andrews.Rose-Neath Funeral Home
