MANSFIELD, La. – Funeral services for Mary Alice Spencer, 73, of Mansfield, will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Mansfield with the Rev. John Murphy Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Wilbur Purvis' Patterson Funeral Home in Mansfield. 

Mrs. Spencer died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005, at Willis Knighten Hospital North in Shreveport, La. She was born April 26, 1932, in Mansfield to Jesse Adams and Wessie Alexander. Retired from the Cooperative Extension Agency in Mansfield, she was a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. 

Survivors include her husband, Earnest Spencer Sr. of Mansfield; two sons, Earnest Spencer Jr. and Carl Spencer, both of Kansas City, Mo.; three daughters, Mary Ann Spencer of Dallas, Rose Bayless of Marshall and Patsy Elam of Mansfield; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
