Bernice Merritt Hatcher

Union Spring Baptist Cemetery

STONEWALL, LA - Funeral service for Bernice Merritt Hatcher, 85, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Union Spring Baptist Church in Converse, LA. Interment will follow in the Union Spring Baptist Cemetery. Officiating will be Reverend Stan McGee pastor of Salem Baptist Church, where Bernice was a devout member.

Bernice was born in Webster Parish, LA on December 18, 1922 to Eric and Lillie Merritt. She went to be with her Lord on January 29, 2008.

Mrs. Hatcher was a resident of Stonewall, LA. She was retired from Montgomery Ward as a sales clerk.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Waymon Oneal Hatcher and her sister, Shug. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter: Pat Greer; Grandsons: Dr. Chris Greer and wife Christie, Kevin Greer, Troy Greer, Brandon Greer; great-granddaughter, Morgan Greer; brother: James Merritt and wife Floy Dale and her dearest card playing friends, Hazel and Louise.

Pallbearers will be Freddie Hatcher, George Hatcher, Tony Grubbs, Joey Hooker, Mark Yawn, Mike Sepulvado, and Baylan Lee. Honorary Pallbearer will be Mr. Sammie Craft. Rose-Neath Funeral Home Southside Chapel 687-1256.
