E. Quarrier Smith

Mansfield Cemetery

Funeral Services for E. Quarrier Smith will be held at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church in Mansfield Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 at 1:00 in the afternoon. Interment to follow at Mansfield Cemetery. Quarrier was born in Shreveport to the union of Neal Smith and Melba Quarrier S. Jenkins on Feb. 14, 1923. He graduated from Byrd High School in 1941. After serving in the Pacific during WWII with the U.S. Air Force he returned to Shreveport and graduated from Centenary College in 1948. Quarrier was an accountant with Placid Oil for 32 years. After retirement he enjoyed woodworking and making clocks. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife Virginia Smith of Mansfield, La. 3 sons: Charles & Gaylon Smith, Forney, Texas; Richard & Marla Carter, Richardson, Tex; Joe Carter, of Lavon, Tex. 4 daughters: Judy S. Paul, Effie, La.; Dana Quarrier, Shreveport; Susan & Richard Maxwell, German Town, Tenn.; Mary Robbins, of Dallas.
