Frances B. Ruffin

Highland Cemetery, Mansfield

MANSFIELD, LA - Funeral services Frances B. Ruffin will be held Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 2:00 PM in Rose-Neath Mansfield Chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Joe Waggener, Rev. Thumper Miller and Rev. Ken Norton. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery, Mansfield, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, November 7, 2008 from 5:00 until 7:00.

Francis B. Ruffin passed away on November 5, 2008. He was 90 years old. He was born August 5, 1918 in Mansfield to his parents, C.T. and Lois Ruffin. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers Harold and his wife Martha and Albert and his wife Alice and two sisters-in-law, Hazel Funk and Ina Parault and husband Clarence; three brothers-in-law Linos and wife Dorothy; Les and wife Helen and Gerald Corley.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 57 years, Syble Ruffin and their only child Francine. Two surviving brothers. Bill and Gary and his wife Marianne of Lafayette, LA. And sister-in-law, Leola Webb and her husband Bobby of Angelton, TX and brother-in-law Jack Corley of Monroe, LA and sister-in-law Evelyn Corley of Pawhuska, OK and a host of nieces and nephews. Also left to cherish his memory is Alan and Martha Yarbrough and the girls.

Pallbearers will be the nephews Robert Webb. Jim Ruffin, Sonny Hall, and Albert Sydney Ruffin and special friends Alan Yarbrough and Bill Calvert. Honorary Pallbearers will be Harvey Samuels, Buddy Trogel, Reimer Calhoun, Jr., Tommy Calhoun, Don Horn, Billy McElroy and Dan Brown.

Francis was a native of Mansfield and lived there his entire life except for 5 years he served in the ARMY in World War II. When he returned from the service he with his brother, Albert, opened their first grocery store. He continued his entrepreneur ambitions by becoming owner and operator of ten different retail businesses during his lifetime. He retired at the age of 86 years old. His whit and great gift for gab will be missed.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Denis Kamberov and his staff for the care that they gave him. A very special thanks to Rachel Sullivan for the care, love and support you gave to us all. And to Lora Duncan a special thanks for the love and care you have given through out the years.

His family wishes to thank the First Baptist Church family for all the cards and prayers and visits and thoughtful deeds. We also give a special thanks to Supra Health Care for the awesome caregivers.
