Virginia Scott Cowdin

Grand Cane Cemetery

KEITHVILLE, LA- Graveside services will be held for Mrs. Virginia S. Cowdin, (Ginson) at Grand Cane Cemetery in Grand Cane, LA on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Brother David Permenter of Grand Cane Baptist Church will officiate. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel in Shreveport, LA from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2008.

Mrs. Cowdin was born on September 7, 1914 in Kingston, LA to James E. Scott and Virginia L. Scott. She entered into rest April 13, 2008 in Shreveport, LA. She was 93. She was an active member of Keatchie Presbyterian Church, Grand Cane Baptist Church and Grawood Baptist Church, where she dearly loved to serve her Lord and Savior. She was a retired U.S. Post Office employee in Grand Cane, LA where she made her home with her husband for 56 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Cowdin (Lugie), one sister, Nell Scott Griffith and her parents.

She is survived by son, James Robert Cowdin and wife Barbara L. Cowdin of Keithville, LA and granddaughter, Kristin M. Cowdin of New York City and two nieces, one nephew, as well as a host of grand nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be David Crocker, David Means, L. C. Blunt, Billy Franklin, Donald Fowler, and Sam Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Brummett and O.K. Allen.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideons Memorial Bible Plan, the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, Paralyzed Veterans of America or to your local church.
