Elizabeth Zwan LaHood

MANSFIELD, LA -Elizabeth Zwan LaHood was born in Crowley, LA to the late A.M. Zwan and Fakie Zwan. She passed away Friday, May 1, 2009 in Shreveport, LA.

Prior to her marriage to Joseph C. LaHood of Mansfield on January 23, 1949, Elizabeth Zwan lived in Tyler, TX. In 1968 Joe and Elizabeth LaHood opened LaHood's Mobile Homes in Mansfield, Louisiana.

Elizabeth LaHood was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years; Joe LaHood, her parents; Mr. & Mrs. A.M. Zwan; brother; Michael Zwan; sisters Effie Kamel and Amelia Zwan.

Affectionately known as "Siti" by her grandchildren and "Nin" by her close friends, Elizabeth LaHood was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all that knew her. She is survived by her two daughters, Tanya LaHood Dufour and husband Donnie Dufour of Mansfield, LA and Tamam LaHood of Shreveport, LA. Grandchildren; Aaron Jackson and wife Allison- Auburn, Alabama, Adam J. Dufour of Dallas, Texas, Peyton Dufour of Shreveport,LA and also granddaughter, Jordan Dufour of Shreveport,LA.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to their mother's friends and caregivers, Mrs. Marie Meshell, Michelle Duncan, Lois Williford, Charlotte Cleveland, and Lettie Thomas all of Shreveport and to Dr. Tommy Brown and to Sherri Hinkle, Ginger Gedeon and staff of the Willis-Knighton Hospice of Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers the family memorials can be made to the American Heart Association or to the St. Joseph's Catholic Church Building Fund, Mansfield, LA.

Following a private funeral mass, the family will be welcoming friends and visitors from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the home of Tanya and Donnie DuFour in North Hills in Mansfield. Rose-Neath Funeral Homes, Mansfield Chapel 318-872-4660.
