St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery, Stonewall

STONEWALL, LA - Funeral services for Mary F. Vanderhoeven, 77, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 18, 2009 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Stonewall, LA. Officiating will be Father Larry Niehoff. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Southside Drive on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 from 5:00 P.m. until 7:00 p.m., followed by a vigil at 7:00 p.m.

Prior to moving to Stonewall, LA in 1999, Mrs. Vanderhoeven resided in Alexandria, LA. She retired in 1986 from Rapides Parish Office of Family Support in Alexandria.

She was born June 18, 1931 and passed away June 15, 2009, after a lengthy illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Silas Edmond Vanderhoeven; her parents; two sisters; four brothers and one grandson. She is survived by her son, Bruce Edmond Vanderhoeven, Sr. and wife, Barbara, of Stonewall; daughter, Francine Marie Butler and husband, Gerry, of Athens, Texas; grandchildren Allison Marie Vanderhoeven and Bruce (Eddie) Vanderhoeven, Jr. of Stonewall, Brian Edmond Bates and wife, Naoko, and her great-grandson, Kentaro Brian Bates of Portland, Oregon; nephew, Bill Ducote and wife, Susan, from Shreveport, LA; niece, Ann Andrews and husband, John, from Rocky Mount, North Carolina and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

Pallbearers will be James Self, Johnny Mouser, Al Bordelon, John Bedsole, William "Doc" Ducote, and Bob Russell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Ann's Catholic Church Building Fund, Stonewall, LA or to the American Cancer Society. Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Southside Chapel 687-1256.
