KEATCHIE, LA - Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Speights, 82, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2009, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Southside Drive. Officiating will be Rev. Donald Scott, Rev. Sheldon Sharbano, Rev. Benny Alford, and Rev. Al VanDyke. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Shiloh, LA.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday November 18, 2009.

Mrs. Speights was born January 1, 1927, in Hall Summitt, LA, to Romie and Ideva Gay. She passed away November 17, 2009, in Shreveport, LA. She was a Registered Nurse and retired as the Supervisor of the Desoto Parish Health Unit.

Preceding her death are her parents and brothers, Wayne and R.L. Gay. She is survived by her husband, Willard Choyce Speights, Sr.; sons, Willard Choyce Speights, Jr. and wife Kay and Gary Wyatt Speights; daughters, Patricia Speights Humble, Jeannie Speights Hardy and husband John, and Catherine Joyce Speights; grandchildren, Adam Speights and wife Courtney, Rachael Speights Kear and husband Josh, Abigail Speights, Callie Speights Eldridge and husband Brad, Bobby Humble, Billy Humble, Alicia Humble, Jon Henderson, Patrick Henderson, and Colton Speights; six great grandchildren; brother, Richard Gay and wife Margaret; sisters, Barbara Richey and Nina Chandler and husband James.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be James Wells, John Hardy, Johnny Haynes, Bernard Waggoner, Lee Humble, and E.L. Moss.
