Anne Stubblefield Russell

O. E. Price Cemetery, Logansport

LOGANSPORT, LA - Anne Stubblefield Russell, 78, of Logansport, Louisiana, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2009 in Mansfield. The funeral services will be held, Sunday, November 15, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Logansport at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at the Price Memorial Cemetery in Logansport. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 pm Saturday, November 14, at the church.

Mrs. Russell was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Logansport. She taught piano for many years and sang in the church choir. As the church's dedicated organist for over thirty years, she touched many in the community with her musical talents by sharing in the celebrations of weddings and providing comfort at funerals.

Mrs. Russell was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon C Russell and her parents, John D. Stubblefield and Mary Bradshaw Stubblefield. She is survived by a son, John G. Russell and wife Ninette of Grand Cane; daughters Jan Verner of Elm Grove, and Sally Terrell and husband Kip of Stonewall; seven grandchildren, Wesley Verner, Grant Russell, Drew Verner, Jordan Russell, Molly Terrell, Claire Terrell, and Sophie Terrell. Survivors also include special family members Lori Russell, Bubba Pipkin, and James Verner.

Pallbearers will include Wesley and Drew Verner, Grant and Jordan Russell, Kip Terrell, Bubba Pipkin, Andrew McGlathery, and Rex Clark. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Parker, Ken Hendrickson, Allen Riley, Carleton Prothro, and Ronald McBride.

The family would like to express its heartfelt thanks to the staff of Mansfield Nursing Center for their support.
