Margaret "Vonn" Rogers Ellis

Mansfield Cemetery

MANSFIELD, LA - Services for Mrs. Margaret "Vonn" Rogers Ellis, 83, will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Rose-Neath's Mansfield Chapel. Officiating will be Reverend Ken Norton, Pastor of First United Methodist Church in Mansfield, LA. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery, Mansfield, LA. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, Saturday, December 12th from 5PM until 7PM.

Vonn was born August 17, 1926 in Brownwood, TX and passed away, December 11, 2009 in Shreveport. She was the daughter of Walter and Merle Rogers. Vonn was a long time resident of Mansfield, having lived there for 55 years. She was a former resident of New Orleans. Vonn met her beloved husband, Floyd Alexander "Alex" Ellis, Sr. in Ft. Worth, TX and they were married on September 24, 1948 in Ft. Worth. Her husband preceded her in death.

Mrs. Ellis is survived by her son; Floyd A. "Guy" Ellis, Jr. and his children; Cassie Ellis of Center, TX and Michael Ellis of Center TX, her daughter; Margaret Ellis "Pene" Henry and husband, Jim Henry of Austin, TX and their children; Kristen Henry and her fiancée, Clayton Floyd of Big Lake, TX and Brian Henry of Austin, TX. She was also survived by her sister; Laverne "Pepper" Loudermilk of Brownwood, TX, Juanell Cheairs of Brownwood, TX, Sylva Lee Dornehecker of International Falls, MN, and her brother; Walter "Buddy" Rogers of Abilene, TX.

Pallbearers will be Brian Henry, Michael Ellis, Donnie Taylor, Bruce Taylor, Ronnie Valentino, Sonnie Hall and Herman Lawson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Green Reives, Warren Harris, Walter Dorroh, John Blanchard, Walter Platt, Buddy Troegel, Cassie Ellis and Kristen Henry.
