Mr. Nathaniel Glynn Holmes

Longstreet Cemetery

LOGANSPORT, LA - Funeral services for Nathaniel Glynn Holmes, 71, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Ron McLellan. Interment will follow in Longstreet Cemetery in Longstreet, Louisiana. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2009, at the funeral home.

Mr. Holmes was born on December 29, 1937, in Longstreet, Louisiana, to Cleo Powell and Paul F. Holmes. He passed away on October 16, 2009. He was a resident of Logansport, Louisiana, and a deacon at Gloster Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army. He was an avid gardener and he loved his farm and animals but most of all he loved the Lord and his family.

Mr. Holmes was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Sherrie Ann. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rita Phillips Holmes; son, Kenneth D. Holmes and wife, Robin; special son, Patrick Alford and wife, Chris; special daughter, Patricia Mondello; grandchildren, Jordan and Taylor Holmes, Julia and Nick Alford, and Joey Mondello; siblings, J. E. Holmes and wife, Edna, Douglas Holmes and wife, Lucy, Polly Holmes Bunch and husband, Myron, Hollis Holmes and wife, Geraldine, Wallace Holmes and wife, Helen, and Linda Holmes May and husband, Paul; and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends at his church.

Pallbearers will be George Senic, Jim Roper, Wayne Borne, T. C. Hall, Mike Phillips, Weldon Wilkinson, Harold Scott and David King.
