Funeral services for Beatrice Huntoon, 86, of Alba were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 23, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home Chapel, Alba, with Delton Alexander officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery in Alba. Mrs. Huntoon died Monday, Feb. 21, in a Quitman hospital. She was born March 1, 1918, in Alba to Marion H. and Artie Pope Yowell. She was a chief telephone operator for the U.S. government. She had lived in Alba since 1988. She was a member of the Alba Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, John “Jack” Huntoon of Alba; stepdaughter, Nancy Clark of Mentor, Ohio; brother, Delbert Yowell of Alba; sisters, Wanda and husband Tom Hestand of Temple, and Frankie Gilbreath of Mineola; three nieces and one nephew.
