This is a community Negro cemetery located on FM 102 between Wharton and Glen Flora. It was surveyed by Don Baylor on Jul 08 1988. A note indicates that the New Prosperity Church might have been started in 1918 when East Gate Cemetery was abandoned.
There were sixty-four markers when the cemetery was surveyed in 1988. The oldest grave is for Sallie Ray, who died Aug 14 1917. The cemetery was 77 yrs old in 1994.
