Services for Kenneth Dwain Thorn, 68, of Edgewood were held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel, Edgewood, with Rev. Odie Cummings officiating.  Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Edgewood. Pallbearers were Wallace Carlson, Erich Carlson, Dan Navarre, Darron Thorn, Byron Thorn, Glen Sudduth and Luther Laliafero.  Mr. Thorn died Jan. 5, 2005, at his residence.  He was born Aug. 9, 1936, in Willow Springs Community. He grew up in Edgewood where he graduated from high school in 1954. He was a builder, a farmer, and a rancher.  He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Angelyn Thorn of Edgewood; sons, Kenny D. Thorn Jr. of Scurry, and Lenny J. Thorn of Wilmer; daughter, Belinda Kaye Rose of Gun Barrel City; children’s mother, Betty Louise Thorn of Canton; stepchildren, Erich Carlson and Cathy Burleson both of Edgewood, Wallace Carlson of Watauga, and Barbara Morgan of Tyler; brothers, Truman J. Thorn of Edgewood and Fred D. Thorn of Point; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Howell and Jessie Platter Thorn; son, Danny Earl Thorn; sisters, Brenda Jean Thorn and Barbara June Suddeth; brothers, Gary Don Thorn and Bennie L. Thorn.
