The cemetery is located about 2 miles east of 287 and 500 feet north of Eden Road. A housing developer is in the process of cutting roads through the property. He is allocating one lot to the cemetery, which will become common property of the addition. The chain link fence, sign and granite markers are recent additions.

| He came to
Texas about 1849 and built the cabin known as the Jopling-Melear cabin. This
could have been the first cabin built in Tarrant County.
The Jopling-Melear cabin has been relocated at least twice. It is now in a park in downtown Arlington. The park will be dedicated 25 September, 2004 |

2008--Ralph Shelton, the land developer, has landscaped the lot, put in a sprinkler system, restored the iron fence, and made a display containing a metallic copy of the original land deed signed by Sam Houston.
