Troup Banner, Troup TX: January 6, 1927 G.M. ARNOLD, PIONEER DIED AT HOME NEAR TROUP George M. Arnold, 75 years old, died at the family home two miles west of Troup Saturday. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at the residence by Rev. Fount Wallace, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Troup. Burial was at the Rucker cemetery. He is survived by his wife, one son and four daughters. The daughters are Mrs. D.W. Salmon, Mrs. J.H. Tarbutton, all of Troup; Mrs. W.M. Sanders of Rusk and Miss Bertha May Arnold of Wichita Falls. The son is S.J. Arnold of Troup. Many other relatives live at Troup. Mr. and Mrs. G.M. Arnold were the parents of thirteen children, eight of which are deceased. Mr. Arnold was born near Memphis, Tennessee. At the age of six months his parents moved to Troup, and he had lived here since. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Troup.
