Troup Banner, Troup TX: December 8, 1927 I.T. SALMON DIED MONDAY AT TROUP Terminating an illness of several months from cancer of the stomach, I.T. Salmon died at his home in West Troup Monday afternoon. He was 63 years and had lived in Troup for 24 years. He was born at old Knoxville, in Cherokee County. Funeral services were conducted at the residence Tuesday afternoon by Evangelist I.E. Tackett of Troup and henry Edwards of Tyler, Both close friends of the decedent and his family. Burial was made in the Bradford Cemetery Tuesday afternoon. Besides his wife, Mr. Salmon is survived by a daughter, Mrs. R.W. Elliott of Rogers, Arkansas; and a son, Ware Salmon, of Troup; one sister, Mrs. Melissa Palm of Clint, Texas; and Three brothers, R.D. Salmon of San Angelo, E.H. Salmon of Stockdale, and Billie Salmon of Troup. Mr. Salmon was recognized as a man of good character, and enterprising citizen and a faithful friend and neighbor. It was these superior qualities that made for him a large number of friends in this community.
