TOWNSEND CEMETERY, San Augustine County, Texas, was surveyed and photographed on December 18, 2008 by Bob Britnell. (misterbob@suddenlink.net)

The cemetery is located on a hill at the end of an unpaved County Road, just a stones throw from the lake.

DIRECTIONS: from the junction of FM83, which runs from Pineland to Broaddus, and FM705, go south on 705 10.5 miles to FM3127. Turn right on 3127 and go 1.5 miles; the pavement ends and the unpaved road becomes CR4960. Go half a mile on this road; it ends at the cemetery. Photographs of all headstones are available on request. (FHM) indicates a small funeral home marker. When a name appears like this, "G(lenn)" it indicates that the initial G. was on the headstone, and the full name shown on another marker such as a military footstone. There is a number of unidentifiable graves; some marked with illegible funeral home markers, some with unreadable stones, and some deteriorated wooden markers.
