MRS. SINGLETARY

BURIED AT CARLISLE

Funeral services were held from the Carlisle Methodist church at 2:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Aurelia Singletary. Services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. J.B. Waggoner assisted by Rev. J.R. Welch of Minden and Rev. Waltman of Laneville. Remains were laid to rest in the Minden cemetery.

Mrs. Singletary was 69 years of age and had spent practically all her life in Rusk county, the past thirty years spent in the Minden and Laneville communities. She had been a faithful member of the Methodist church for many years. She was a kind hearted and affectionate mother, a woman loved as a neighbor and as such exemplied (sic) those finer qualities that made her an outstanding character in the community life. Like many other mothers she passed through the valley of sorrow, but always with a cheerful spirit. She lived an unselfish life and will be remembered for her devotion to the high principles of Christian living.

Mrs. Singletary passed away Monday afternoon at the home of her son, Superintendent Frank Singletary in Carlisle.

The following children survive: Frank Singletary, Carlisle; Herbert Singletary, Laneville; Harlis Singletary, Conroe; Mrs. O.L. Fowell, Dallas; Hollis Singletary, Carthage; Mrs. Mary Steger, Tyler; Mrs. Dick Garland, Marshall and Mrs. John Davis, Shreveport.

Active pall bearers were Joe Lacy, O.E. Lock, Truitt Mason, Leonard Buckner, Calvin Brannen and Carlos Davis.

Funeral arrangements were handled by the A. Crim funeral home.
