Graveside services for James A. Dougherty, 72, of Wills Point were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 6 with Rev. Tim Mabe officiating. Burial was in Dougherty Cemetery, and pallbearers were Sgt. Joseph Mosely, Henry Potts, Fred Covington, Wayne Sullivan, Charles Dougherty, and Leroy Potts. Mr. Dougherty was born November 19, 1932, to Henry Harrison and Lois Pearl Montgomery Dougherty. He served in the Army during the Korean War, and he was a retired machinist. He was a member of Dougherty Baptist Church. He died Thursday, February 3 at his residence in Wills Point. Survivors include a son, James Daniel Dougherty of Elmo; two daughters, Louann Moseley of Elmo and Cora May Dougherty of Wills Point; former spouse, Jennie Cloell Terry; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Norman and Henry Dougherty. ---Rains County Leader, Feb 8, 2005
