Deadwood Cemetery, Panola Co.
CARTHAGE - Funeral services for Rosa Lee Luman Dickerson, 82, of Deadwood will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Wiles, the Rev. Harold Gunstanson and the Rev. Noel Coker officiating. Burial will follow at Deadwood Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mrs. Dickerson died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, in Carthage. She was born Jan. 15, 1924, in Chireno in Nacogdoches County to R.C. "Bud" and Lillie A. "Zona" Oliver Luman. She gained her nursing skills at Panola College and married L.R. Dickerson on Dec. 16, 1939. She worked as a nurse for many years at Panola General Hospital, was director of nurses at Leisure Lodge and worked for both Dr. Gerardy and Dr. Royce Hill. She was a member of Deadwood United Pentecostal Church. She is survived by her special granddaughter, Dreama Walker of Longview; three brothers, Noah Luman of Carthage, John Luman of Deadwood and Charlie Luman of Timpson; a number of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Clayton Hudson, Ron Luman, Terry Luman, Carlos Gray, Dwight Taylor, Noble Gene Dickerson and Bruce Lee. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. The family requests donations be made to Deadwood United Pentecostal Church. Hawthorn Funeral Home
