Some time before 1850( Panola Co. Census), Mary Carter moved to TX with sons,  Martin  21 years old, Wade H.   17 years old and daughter,  Elizabeth 10 years old. Mary was 65 years old and born in Tennessee.   On the 1870 Census Mary (b.1808 - d. after 1870) was living next door to Wade and Martha.

Between 1860-1865, Wade joined Moore's 17th Texas Cavalry, Confederate as a Private.  After the War, Wade returned to Panola Co. and on Jan 10 1867 married Martha Martin.  They had at least 2 boys and 1 girl.
